Record and manage voice memos

A voice memo attaches an audio recording to one saved trade or one saved daily journal entry. It is not transcribed into text. Recordings stay private unless you share the related entry through Mentor Mode.

Find the recorder

• For a trade, open Trades, edit a saved trade, and open its notes area.
• For a daily entry, open Journal, choose a day, and open or save that day’s note. The recorder appears after the note is saved.

You must be signed in as the account owner to record or delete a memo. A mentor can listen only when you share the related trade or daily journal.

Record and listen

1. Select the record control and allow microphone access if your browser asks.
2. Select stop when finished. The recording uploads automatically; wait for the saved confirmation.
3. Use the audio player beside a memo to listen again.

A memo can be up to five minutes and 10 MB. Recording stops automatically at five minutes. Your browser must support audio recording and microphone access. Keep the page open until the upload finishes.

Delete or share a memo

Use the delete control beside a memo to remove that recording. This does not delete its trade or journal entry.

In Mentor Mode, sharing a trading account gives the mentor access to voice memos attached to trades in that account. Turning on Daily journal also shares daily entries and their voice memos. A memo cannot be shared separately from its entry. Change or revoke sharing in Mentor Mode; see Mentor Mode.

Microphone access and recording problems

JJI requests microphone access only when you select Record; opening the recorder does not start a permission request or a recording. Allow microphone access in both your browser’s site permissions and your device’s privacy settings. If access is denied, change the site permission to Allow, then select Record again; JJI does not retry automatically. If the microphone is busy, close other apps using it; if recording is unsupported, use a browser that supports microphone recording. If an embedded page blocks access, open JJI directly rather than inside another page. Stopping or closing the recorder releases the microphone. Closing before you stop does not upload the unfinished recording.
